Instead of the smoky flavors of Mezcal and bitters, we\u2019re highlighting the delicious flavors of a juicy red blend wine. We chose <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wtso.com\/shared\/product\/87431?utm_source=blog&amp;utm_medium=blog&amp;utm_campaign=cellarshare&amp;utm_content=2022cellar_87431+blog\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Judge and Jury Sonoma Red Blend 2018<\/a> for its harmony and structure for a base of Zinfandel with additions of Petit Verdot, Petite Sirah, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Malbec. A perfect blend for the spooky season!<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><!--more--><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1\/4 cup honey<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1\/2 cup water<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1 orange, for peel<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1 cinnamon stick<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sugar, to rim glass<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">4 ounces red wine\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1\/4 cup pomegranate juice<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sparkling water, optional for topping<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Instructions<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To make the honey syrup, in a small pot over medium heat, add water and honey until it reaches a steady simmer. Add orange peels and cinnamon stick, and simmer for 2-3 more minutes. Remove from the heat. Let cool. The syrup can be kept in a glass jar for up to 2 weeks.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pour sugar into a small bowl or dish. Dip the rim of the wine glass in water, then tip into the sugar.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\">In a cocktail shaker, add ice. Add the wine, pomegranate juice, and 1-2 tablespoons of the honey syrup. Shake for 20-30 seconds, then strain into glasses.
