Our Price
Domaine du Petit Clocher's 2018 Anjou delivers a full-bodied, luscious white made entirely from Chenin Blanc. Malolactic fermentation in barrels gives the wine a creamy coolness while still preserving a nuance of fresh citrus that complements exquisite notes of baked apple, stewed pear, and a rich, nutty finish. Although this bottle is perfect for sipping on a sunny Autumn afternoon, we highly recommend it alongside a savory, hearty meal, such as roasted pork loin with sauteed apples and onions.

Wine Notes
A more fleshy, more complex white, this Anjou is our only dry white aged in barrels. It is concentrated, fat, and round on the palate, but never heavy, thanks to a lemony freshness that sustains it throughout the tasting. A balanced Anjou to be served now with white butterfish.
Wine Details
Grape: Chenin
Harvest: Manual
Aging: Consume within five years
Service: Serve between 10 and 12 degrees C, open two hours before tasting
Tasting Notes
Color: Sparkling, straw yellow with bronze reflections
Nose: This wine reflects a spring freshness where the floral aromas of Chenin - lime blossom, acacia - mingle with notes of citrus (grapefruit, lemon) and candied fruit
Mouth: The attack is frank with a beautiful aromatic continuity. The slight nervousness of the tangy granite apple attenuates the roundness of the attack and allows many food-wine combinations.
Vinification
The potential acquired in this wine is the result of patient waiting at the time of harvest. The enhancement of this potential is achieved through meticulous work of extracting and refining the musts. Fermentation carried out smoothly - thanks to the control of the temperature - and aging involving well-positioned oxygenation phases allow a whole complex and evolving aroma set on the characteristics specific to ripe Chenin and those of its land.

This intense, full-bodied wine is full of baked-apple and cooked-pear flavors. There is certainly acidity here, but it is integrated in the wine's ripeness and weight. The perfumed, nutty aftertaste is as full as the rest of this rich wine.
