Tasting Notes
Initially, the nose shows an abundance of black fruit and sweet spice aromas, later opening up to a more savory, umami character. The palate continues this profile with enchanting, voluptuous biltong flavors and fine, grippy tannins that allow a lingering spicy finish.

Pairing Suggestions
Great pairing with Karoo lamb, a delicious homemade beef burger with grilled cheddar topping, or mushroom risotto.

Hartenberg's estate Shiraz is made with grapes from The Stork and Gravel Hill blocks that didn't make it into the single-vineyard bottlings, so no wonder it's so impressive. Big and bold - what Carl Schultz calls a "lurker" - with iodine, cooked meat and spicy oak notes and plenty of grip. 2023-30.

A lifted nose with floral violet notes, some savoury character – grilled meat and vanilla. A rounded palate with subtle Chinese five-spice, oak that is still integrating and a pretty, detailed and defined finish. (AC)
