How Sparkling Wine Is Made: The Champagne Method

To toast to Sparkling Wine Week, we want to take you on a journey through how your favorite wines are made.

One of the most popular winemaking methods for sparkling selections, The Champagne Method, is a meticulous way to create delicious and crisp bubbly wines. Here’s how it works:

Below is a step-by-step look at each part of the process:

Step 1: Base wine is created in stainless steel tanks

Step 2: Base wines are blended.

Step 3: Wine, sugar, & yeast are added.

Step 4: Leftover sediment dissolves

Step 5: Sediment is removed.

Step 6: Mixture is added before sealing.

Step 7: Cheers!

Happy Sparkling Wine Week! Pop open a bottle of Champagne, Cava, or any other sparkly selection to celebrate. Cheers!
