Our Favorite Wines To Ring in The New Year

This year is almost at a close, which means it’s time to find some wine to celebrate 2021. Check out our guide for some great wines to ring in the new year.

Can you believe that it’s almost the new year? It’s time to focus on fresh starts and new beginnings. 2020 was a rough year for many people for a lot of different reasons, but 2021 may be the restart we all need.

Although your celebrations this year will look a little different, that doesn’t mean you can’t pop a bottle of bubbly and rejoice at making it another year around the sun. Trying to figure out what wines to help you last until midnight? Explore some of our favorite wines to ring in the New Year

Sparkling Rosé

Rosé and bubbles, what better way to celebrate the new year? Lucky for you, there are plenty of options to choose from, from dry to sweet, and darker-hued to pale pinks. Grab a few bottles, drink some solo, and mix others to create a lovely cocktail.

We love how endless the options are when it comes to sparkling Rosé—order a bottle and see for yourself!

Our Picks:

  • Champagne André Chemin Cuvée Rosé Brut Premier Cru NV
  • Emile Boeckel Brut Rosé Crémant d’Alsace 2018

Vinho Verde

Vinho Verde is a beloved wine, especially if you’ll be sharing a bottle (or two) with someone who isn’t an avid wine drinker like you. Many of the bottles out there will have a light spritz or bubble to them; in fact, it’s often seen as an “adult soda.” That said, it’s a nice, easy drink to begin your New Year’s festivities with.

If you see a bottle with a rounder bottom, that’s typically a sign that it won’t have spritz, so keep an eye out for that!

Our Picks:

  • Portuguese White Giroflé Vinho Verde Loureiro 2017
  • Vila Nova Avesso Vinho Verde 2016

Beaujolais

A red other than Pinot Noir, Beaujolais is a great choice for those super chilly New Year’s events. Since it’s made with the Gamay grape, it imparts a fresh, fruit-forward mineral quality to the wines. That said, it’s one of the few wine regions of France that doesn’t take itself too seriously, so it can be difficult to find the right bottle for you.

Look for the ten Crus of Beaujolais—they have their own personality and are more complex. We like the wines of Fleurie if you’re just getting into this style.

Our Picks:

  • Annick Bachelet AOP Fleurie Red Beaujolais 2018
  • Jean-Michel Dupré Vignes de 1935 Morgon Cru Beaujolais 2015

Bordeaux Blanc

If you love Sauvignon Blanc, then we highly suggest trying out Bordeaux Blanc or White Bordeaux. There are two major styles out there—you can find light and fruity styles, or right and creamy. Most you’ll find will be in the former region. Expect large flavors and aromas of citrus fruits, honey, passionfruit, and more.

Check out our online wine deals and order one of our bottles and you’re sure to be transported to the warmth of summer to ring in the chill of the new year!

Our Picks:

  • Château Bois Malot Bordeaux Blanc 2019
  • Château La Monde Entre-Deux-Mers Bordeaux Blanc 2018

These are some of our favorite wines to ring in the new year. Truth be told, any one of our bottles will go wonderfully with your celebration needs. Whether it’s a red or sparkling, Wines ‘Til Sold Out has a spectrum of delicious wines to start 2021 off on the right foot.
