RECIPE: Red Rioja Sangria

Relaxing in the sun this Memorial Day Weekend? Enjoy a sweet, authentic red sangria made with Rioja wines.

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 2 bottles of red wine (we recommend Rioja)
  • 2 medium oranges
  • 1 green apple
  • 1 lemon
  • 4 tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1 cup brandy (optional)

Directions: 

  1. Cut one orange into round slices and one into wedges. Cut lemon into round slices. Cut green apple into wedges.
  2. Pour two bottles of red wine into a pitcher. Add 4 tbsp. of brown sugar and 1 cup of brandy (optional). Squeeze wedged orange juice into the pitcher. Add orange and lemon slices. Add green apple wedges.
  3. Stir and then serve!

  • Who needs brown sugar? Try this easy one: one bottle of a good Rioja , half to 3/4bottle orange juice, a squeeze of lemon and pour over ice cubes. Cut fruit optional.
