2020 Ryan's Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc
The Vintage
In 2020, Napa Valley experienced a warm and dry winter with 50% less rainfall than the average, leading to an early budbreak and advanced growing season. This dry spring set the stage for the berries' excellent concentration and phenolic development. Mild weather during flowering led to a healthy fruit set, even though crop yields were a tad less than in 2019. A very warm summer led to full ripeness that showcased intense fruits, but attentive picking decisions retained freshness and verve in the resulting wines.

Tasting Notes
The 2020 Sauvignon Blanc has a very floral nose of elderflower, candied white peach, and honeydew over a core of lemon peel with a waft of matchstick. Medium-bodied, crisp, and pure, with vibrant, mouthwatering acidity and lots of delicate layers; it has a long, steely finish.
Pairings
Our favorite pairings are oysters with classic mignonette, fresh pasta with homemade pesto, and pretty much any dish featuring goat cheese.

The 2020 Sauvignon Blanc Ryan's Vineyard is more exotic, with bright citrus, grapefruit, and honeyed lime aromatics as well as a medium-bodied, juicy, lively style on the palate. Made with a lot of Musque clone of Sauvignon Blanc, it's ready to go and should drink well for a couple of years.

The 2020 Sauvignon Blanc Ryan's Vineyard is a blend of [...] Sauvignon Blanc and Sauvignon Musque. The Musque lends compelling aromatic presence with light tropical overtones. This steely, bright Sauvignon is a fine choice for drinking now and over the next few years.
