Predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon, this Napa Valley red is sure not to miss. Rounded out with small amounts of Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Malbec, this blend exuberates a depth of character both in color and palate. Deep notes of black currant and dark red cherry lead the way with tones of graphite, damp leaves, and old leather on the finish. Opaque and rich in purple-red color, this wine is sure to excite any West Coast wine enthusiasts. 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley

Vintage Notes
Overall, our 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon crop produced reduced yields with slightly smaller clusters compared to the previous vintage. The quality of these lower yields was high, and our winemaker is excited by the vintage's excellence. A few intervals of early heat spikes may have resulted in an early harvest, but in general, the weather became much more temperate, producing yet another exceptional vintage with long hand time for the vines.

Vineyard Notes
Napa Valley has become the most respected region to cultivate Cabernet Sauvignon in the United States. From the valley floor to hillside vineyards, Napa Valley continues to showcase itself as a premium region for this varietal, and every vintage is an opportunity to explore Napa's version of the "noble grape." We blended Cabernet Sauvignon sourced from vineyards in Rutherford and Oakville - two subregions well renowned for producing outstanding and unique Cabernets.

Winemaking Notes
Once harvested, we began fermentation gently by bringing the juice up to an ideal fermentation temperature and by performing pump-overs at least twice a day during primary fermentation to extract optimal flavor. Once primary fermentation was complete, we put the wine into French oak barrels to complete malolactic fermentation. This wine was racked three times to allow homogeneous blending, then put back into French oak.

Tasting Notes
The nose is bright with ripe bing cherry, Olallieberry, and cigar box interlaced with subtle spice. The palate is multifaceted, with flavors of tangy pomegranate, toasty oak, and cacao nibs. Integrated tannins and layered notes of plum and vanilla wafers provide a long lingering finish to this plush, fruity wine.
