Wine Details
Our 'Rhone Block' is harvested as a field blend of 75% Syrah, 12% Grenache, 10% Mourvedre, and 3% Viognier, destemmed and fermented together in a small, open-top fermentor. We conduct punch-downs by hand twice a day and hold on skins a total of 21 days before pressing off into 100% two-year-old French oak barrels.

Tasting Notes
The first aromas are of ripe nectarine and tangerine, followed rapidly by white pepper, coriander seed, and green cardamom. As the wine evolves in the glass, notes of rose hips, black plum, and anise join the array. On the palate, the wine's mineral center is layered with the flavors of blood orange, black cherry, and loganberry, finishing with just hints of tar and espresso. The wine's intense and exotic flavors will marry well with game, duck, and wild mushrooms.
