Estate
This relatively recently created Meursault-based estate draws on generations of family winemaking expertise, with the marriage of the granddaughter of the oldest winemaking family in Meursault. Anne-Marye and Max have been joined by their two sons, Stephane and William, at the helm of the family's 29 acres under vine representing some 16 different appellations. It is typically Burgundian when two families combine their estates and decide to vinify and bottle their own wine rather than sell the harvest to negociants!

Harvest
Harvest was all done by extended family and by hand, unbelievably early, commencing the week of August 17th. The Pinot Noir grapes were spotless and required no sorting, and the vines were sufficiently well-established to avoid any hydric stress from the summer droughts (not quite as severe as in 2019).

Vinification
Stephane reports that the grapes were very easy to vinify after destemming 75%, with only a few gentle pigeages (punching down) required to avoid over-extraction of tannins. Traditional fermentation took place over 12 days.

Bottling
The resulting wine is bottled after maturing in barrel (1/3 new oak). The ultra-fresh dark spiced fruit flavors of this excellent 2020 harvest will remain accessible and gain depth over the next 5-7 years.

Tasting Notes
Aromatics reveal violet, cherry, and dark raspberry. The mid-palate has tension and plenty of pleasant, fleshy texture with hints of minerality and dark berries through the spice-inflected length. Ideal with steaks and grilled meats.
