Jean de Trimoulet Saint-Emilion Grand Cru 2014

A Brief History
Chateau Trimoulet has been owned by the Jean family since 1802. Guillaume Jean purchased the estate, and nine generations later, Cecile Jean took up the reins, living proof that while Bordeaux is shaped by purchases, speculation, and investment, it is also a land of family traditions. The estate's 17 hectares are grown using sustainable pest management (without the use of chemical products) and are machine harvested. They are divided up into 60% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. As Cecile Jean explains, vines are regularly planted to ensure a balance between continuity and renewal, meaning that the vines dating from her grandfather's era rub shoulders with plants that are still in their youth.

Winemaking Techniques
Plot-by-plot winemaking in concrete vats. Pumping over tailored to each parcel. Vatting period of 30 days. Malolactic fermentation in vats, then maturation in barrels for 12 months.

Rich chocolate and layers of dense black fruits give this wine a sense of power and concentration. Ripe fruits are still a force in this full-bodied wine, even though it is now mature. Drink now.
