Tasting Notes
Color: Rich ruby-red with purplish hues
Bouquet: Complex, very rich. Touch of ripe red fruit, mature black fruit, blackberry, cherry, and black currant with spicy nuances of cocoa, vanilla, liquorice, and cinnamon.
Taste: Medium-bodied; nice notes, warm and austere, with perfect harmony between the coffee and tobacco nuances. Slightly tannic.
Pairings: Pasta dishes with intense tomato sauce, roasted and grilled meats, and fish. Excellent with spicy chicken, beef, lamb, game, or cheeses.
Serving Temperature: About 18-20 degrees C

This is a full-bodied Sagrantino with nice acidity, tart fruit and dried blackberry with which to greet you at the door. Deeper inside, the 2016 Montefalco Sagrantino serves tart cherry, big red fruit, Indian spice, cardamom, barbecue spice and lots of deep, dark intensity. Try it with a platter of zucchini stuffed with meat and bread.
