Winemakers Comments
The Coombsville vineyard that we source from was blessed with a bountiful vintage in 2018 and ended up with more Cabernet Sauvignon than would go into their own proprietary bottling. The makeup of this wine is a 100% 2018 single-vineyard Cabernet that we were able to procure for this limited production classic. Only 150 cases were produced. The result is a classic expression of Cabernet Sauvignon wine with the same characters of many Coombsville AVA reserve wines at twice the price.
Tasting Notes
Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2018 Coombsville Cabernet Sauvignon offers up vibrant scents of crushed blackcurrants, black raspberries, and redcurrant jelly with hints of red roses and menthol with a touch of dark chocolate. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has a great intensity of dark fruits with lots of red berry flavors and finely grained tannins, finishing with great length and freshness. Drink now through 2031.
