Taste Profile
Color: Pale straw
Aromas: Bright citrus, sweet Anjou pear, juicy Mandarin, and a touch of orange spice
Flavors: Donut peach, tropical fruit, orange zest, and mineral notes
Structure: Palate is semi-sweet and crisp at the same time, with a great sugar-acid balance, giving the wine a soft mouthfeel with nice tension
2021 Vintage Report
The 2021 vintage proved to be another early ripening harvest due to an extreme heat wave during the summer. We harvested the vineyard blocks at different times to ensure our Riesling grapes had an appropriate balance between sugar and acid. The Zillah Ranch Riesling was harvested between September 8th-15th depending on the block and vineyard site. Both Stoneridge and Four Feathers vineyards were harvested between September 14th and 16th. Blending the early and later harvested fruit after individual fermentation allows for a balanced Riesling with both mouthfeel and acid in harmony. While fruit yields were significantly down, the overall quality of our 2021 Riesling was high.
