The special cuvee is the 2016 Chateauneuf-du-Pape Larmes Papales, 100% Grenache [...]. Just sensational anyway you look at it, with flamboyant notes of blackberries, roasted herbs, melted licorice, and Asian spices, this beauty is ripe, powerful, and full-bodied, with sweet tannin and a great finish. It's for the Grenache lovers out there and will keep for 10-15 years. Despite its rich, powerful style, this beauty just glides over the palate. Bravo!

An impressive pure Grenache from la Crau (ouest), the 2016 Chateauneuf du Pape les Larmes Papales [...]. Yet the delicacy of its garrigue aromas persist, entwined among silky cherries and raspberries. It's full-bodied but leaves a light impression on the palate, its pretty fruit underscored by hints of pencil shavings on the long, elegant finish. It's a terrific effort from this largely unheralded producer.

Brilliant ruby. Ripe red berry liqueur, allspice, floral and incense aromas are sharpened by a smoky mineral element. Juicy, seamless and broad in the mouth, showing very good depth to the sweet raspberry, cola, five-spice powder and licorice flavors. Shows strong tenacity on a long, smooth finish that features harmonious tannins and an echo of juicy red fruit.
