Tasting Notes
Brilliantly clear shimmering ruby, this 100% estate bottling of Willamette Valley Pinot Noir starts with a nose of sweet black cherry fruit with hints of rose petals and an earthy overtone of Oregon black truffle. The palate starts with a big attack of black cherry cola mellowing into a creamy strawberry mid-palate framed by velvety tannins. Food-friendly acid drives a very long finish with still more black cherry and baking spices.

Winemaking Notes
100% destemmed whole berry fermentation after maceration for 35 days. Punch down twice daily during fermentation, 100% malolactic degradation, minimal stirring, and intervention. 25% new French oak, 75% used for 11 months.

Vineyard Notes
This wine is blended from our three vineyards: Coelho Vineyard in the Van Duzer Corridor AVA with Missoula Flood sedimentary soil, Delfina Vineyard in the McMinnville AVA with volcanic soil, and Zeitoun Vineyard in the Eola-Amity Hills AVA with a mix of eroded volcanic rock over marine sedimentary soil.

The 2017 ‘Coelho Estates’ begins with aromatics of teaberry, blood orange and cran-pomegranate that all build in the glass. The mouthfeel is very nice as the wine delivers a good combination of red and dark fruits with citrus and and earthy undertones that complement this delicious bottling.

Medium ruby, the 2017 Pinot Noir Estate has very light aromas of rhubarb, cranberries, decaying leaves and earth with hints of mushroom and dried flowers. It's light-bodied with a juicy red fruit profile, a soft frame and an earth-tinged finish.

Blended from several of the estate vineyards, this is strongly herbal, though well balanced. The light, slightly green berry fruit and astringent tannins are in proportion, though this is not a wine likely to have a long shelf life.
