Production Area
Vineyards in the heart of the Valpolicella area, around the villages of Marano, Negrar, Fumane, Sant'Ambrogio, and San Pietro in Cariano.

Grape Varietals
Corvina, Rondinella, Corvinone

Vinification System
The grapes are pressed, with very low yields in terms of wine, after 80-100 days of traditional drying in special rooms (fruttai), causing the sugars in the grapes to become more concentrated. The must ferments slowly for 18-20 days in contact with the skins at a controlled temperature of 24-28 degrees.

Maturation
It matures in large traditional Slavonian oak casks prior to a further period of bottle aging.

Characteristics
A wine of great structure that is rich, rounded, and velvety, it displays a highly appealing full, fruity style, intermingled with refined spicy sensations.

This traditional style of Amarone della Valpolicella opens to inviting aromatics of cherries and black plums along with dried flowers, licorice, herbs and hints of leather that all emerge from the glass. On the palate this possesses a medium body with notable poise, as it gives way to a core of sweet red and dark berries that continue to linger on the refined finish. While this is showing nicely at this stage with some air contact, it should ultimately go on to show its best stuff after some additional bottle age.
