Tasting Notes: Another gorgeous wine from the talented Caitlin Lhommeau [sic], the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon (95% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Merlot) offers a dense, concentrated style in its ripe blue fruits (cassis, blueberries) as well as pure, liquid violet-like nuances. It's rich, full-bodied, has plenty of tannins, and a juicy, unevolved style that's going to benefit from 2-4 years of bottle age.

Tasting Notes: The Lhommeaus [sic] continue to source their micro-production of Cabernet Sauvignon from an eastern Oakville vineyard under an agreement not to mention the exact source. L'Envolee's 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon delivers notes of vibrant cherries, hints of dried herbs and relatively modest oak, despite both barrels being new. It's medium to full-bodied, silky and taut on the mid-palate, with a long, focused finish.

Tasting Notes: The second vintage (the 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon is from the same source as the 2019) was produced in similar minute quantities [...]. Harvested on September 27 and matured in new French oak (Taransaud and Darnajou), it offers up toasty, smoky accents (from the barrels) against a backdrop of deliciously ripe cassis fruit. It's medium to full-bodied, not quite as rich or harmonious as the 2019 but still a fine effort, with some red-fruit notes peeking through on the long, velvety finish.
