2020 Cabernet Sauvignon
Vineyard Notes
From its inaugural vintage in 1995, Col Solare has embodied the mission to produce a Cabernet Sauvignon of unparalleled elegance, once that captures the essence of Red Mountain's celebrated terroir in Washington State. Col Solare was first crafted upon a belief in bold, patient, and innovative winemaking techniques that few in the world have mastered. Many years later, we enjoy the fruits of continued dedication to expressing Red Mountain, the shining hill nestled deep in the heart of Washington's wine country. The region's unique growing conditions, characterized by the celebrated intensity of Red Mountain AVA grapes, make it possible to grow the necessary caliber of fruit year after year. Every bottle of Col Solare expresses the bold vision of the Antinori family in Washington. Every sip transcends borders, crosses generations, and brings countless years of expertise into focus.
Vintage Notes
The 2020 growing season on Red Mountain was another exceptional vintage. Warm spring temperatures were followed by mild conditions throughout the growing season, which allowed for excellent flavor development. The clusters and berries were smaller than average, resulting in rich, concentrated wines with intense color.

Tasting Notes: The 2020 Col Solare delivers bold aromas of dark cherries, raspberries, and cassis which are layered with notes of warm spices, mocha, tilled soil, and a hint of wet gravel, adding complexity and a sense of place. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, round, and velvety, with soft tannins that provide a smooth, refined structure. It offers notable depth and concentration, carrying seamlessly into a lingering finish that echoes with dark fruit and mocha. Overall, this is a well-crafted wine that is approachable now and should continue to drink beautifully over the next decade.

Tasting Notes: Dark and brooding in the glass, the 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon slowly evolves with nuances of red plum, violet pastille and crushed stone. It washes across the palate with ripe wild berry fruits and mineral tones guided by fresh acidity, while a subtle citrus twang adds cheek-pinching tension. The 2020 closes with grippy tannins yet remains fresh, leaving a pleasantly bitter tinge of cedar and clove.
