The ripasso technique turns the weight and flavor of Valpolicella up a notch by giving wines contact with the dried grape skins remaining after Amarone production. Corte Grande's 2018 Classico Superiore bottling delivers an outstanding example of the style, melding lush red fruit, velvety tannins, and seamlessly integrated oak-spice accents. Take 67% off this crowd-pleasing northeast Italian blend for a limited time!

Vinification
It is obtained using the ripasso technique, which is traditional in Valpolicella. Fermentation is carried out at a controlled temperature of 25 degrees C for 12 days. A few months later (usually in January), the operation known as ripasso is performed: the wine is left in contact with the skins of the dried grapes used for the production of Amarone. In this way, the resulting wine gains greater structure and complexity. It matures in traditional Slavonian oak barrels, further refinement in the glass.
Tasting Notes
Intense fruity notes of wild berry, together with suggestions of spices. In the mouth, it is dry, with structure. It has a rich taste of red fruits and elegant spicy tones.
2018 Vintage
During 2018, crop was more plentiful than in 2017, which was very scarce. The grape harvest began at the end of August for Custoza grapes. Thereafter, red grapes harvest (for Bardolino and Valpolicella wines) began in mid-September. The weather had been sunny during the whole period, except during the harvest's end, when the weather was rainy. Red wines result rich in freshness and with good aging potential, spicy and fruity.
