Winemaker Comments
This limited-production Cabernet Sauvignon was grown in the middle section of a single vineyard in Calistoga AVA, Napa Valley. It is a special block where red volcanic soils merge with volcanic ash. Its location is a little bit cooler than fruit from the top of the hill, so we get extra hang time in the resulting fruit. 2019 was an abundant vintage. We had more fruit from this block than we could fit into our Reserve wine, so our winemaker suggested making a small amount of single-vineyard expression Cabernet Sauvignon.

Tasting Notes
A beautiful and aromatic Cabernet. Dark plums, herbs, cassis, and tobacco are some of the aromas and flavors that emerge from this well-delineated, elegant Cabernet Sauvignon. Bright with black cherry notes, rich, ripe blackberries combine to form a dark core luxuriating in finely textured tannins. The silky mouthfeel is kept interesting with the ever-so-subtle savory notes of thyme and comforting hints of baking spices.
