Tasting Notes
This wine, made of mostly Sangiovese, greets the eye with a very intense ruby-red color. It opens with a complex and elegant bouquet with nuances of mature fruits and vanilla. Soft on the palate, well balanced with a persistent aftertaste.

Blackberry and dark-cherry aromas with some walnuts and dried flowers. Medium-bodied with chewy tannins and solid fruit. Plenty going on. A year or two of bottle age will put it in an even better place. Drinkable now, but better in 2024.

Showing a focused and streamlined quality of fruit that faithfully reflects the character of the vintage, the Castelli del Grevepesa 2019 Chianti Classico Riserva Castelgreve (made with [...] Sangiovese and [...] Merlot) offers a mix of dark primary fruit and slightly tarry or smoky background tones. These come from the wine's moderately evolved nature and the extra year of aging in large oak casks that comes with Riserva status.
