2022 Menetou-Salon Rose 'Le Pre-Long'
Technical Details
Grape Variety: 100% Pinot Noir
Region: Loire Valley
Terroir: Clay and limestone from Kimmeridgian soil
Viticulture
The soil is hoed, or grass is left to grow between the rows, depending on the terroir. De-budding, suckering (dedoublage), and manual leaf removal. Green harvest depending on the vintage. The grapes are carefully sorted, then harvested by hand.
Vinification
The grapes are partially destemmed prior to a pre-fermentation maceration at a cold temperature for a maximum of 24 hours under inert gas. Gentle pneumatic pressing to preserve the freshness of the aromas. The juice rests in the tank at a very low temperature to stabilize, and then it is cleared prior to alcoholic fermentation. The young wine is left on its fine lees for two to three months, then filtered before being bottled.
Tasting Notes
Pale salmon color. Expressive nose of red cherry and pomegranate, a dry and fresh rose perfect for aperitif time, and light fares. Enjoy within two to three years of the vintage.
Service
Serving Temperature: 8 to 10 degrees C. (46 to 50 degrees F.)
