2021 Pinot Noir Midnight Ranch Russian River Valley

Vineyard Notes
Located on Olivet Road in the heart of the Santa Rosa Plains 'Neighborhood' of the Russian River Valley, this vineyard location provides an excellent medium for the coastal fog that blankets our fruit in the mornings and evenings. The cooling moisture facilitates a longer growing season in which Pinot Noir thrives.

Vintage Notes
Bud break arrived about one week earlier than historical averages. The season proved mild and even, until we saw multiple heat spikes throughout August that brought the maturation of the vines slightly earlier than in years past.

Winemaking Notes
We use old-world techniques, whole berries, and whole clusters to make our Pinot Noir in small batches that we 'punch-down' up to three times a day. After native yeast fermentation, the wine is aged in French oak barrels for up to 10 months to achieve optimum balance and complexity. These Pinot Noir grapes were harvested from the Midnight Vineyard in the Russian River Valley. Each barrel is hand-picked and tasted to meet our very finest vineyard-designated quality.

Tasting Notes
Our 2021 Midnight Ranch Pinot Noir, with its shimmering, deep garnet color, has a compelling aroma of ripe, crushed black cherry, vanilla, and a sliver of wild game. Immediately approachable, succulent, and savory, this Pinot Noir abounds with rich raspberry, dark chocolate, and a full lingering finish of red currant and vanilla bean.
