Wine Details
Jean-Pierre Corazza describes his wines as having a dark, well-matured color due to crushing and heat. He can testify to the evolution of the wine - how it starts with aromas of blueberries and cherry, which, with maturation and aging, turn into aromas of blackcurrant. His aim is always to produce round wines - fat, fruity, and full-bodied. This can also be seen in the degree of alcohol.

Producer History
Mr. Jean-Pierre Corazza bought the 10-hectare property in 1985, located in the village of Lussac. Monsieur de Corazza comes from a family of winemakers. His parents before him were also winegrowers. At 14, he was already driving the family tractors to help during the harvest and work the soil. He began his formal studies in viticulture when he was 14 years old! At that time, he had a work-study contract with his family, under which he would practice what he learned at the university on his family's property.

Vineyard History
When Mr. Corazza bought this property, it was abandoned, so he rebuilt and replanted the vines. At the beginning of 2003, he married Christine Seignat, owner of Chateau Haut Pichon. The properties were then united and remain so to this day. Together, they have 23 hectares of property. This husband and wife duo share the task of running two successful vineyards - Mrs. Seignat takes care of the financial management, and Mr. Corazza takes care of the vineyard and blending.

Vineyard Notes
The property itself is set on clay loam soils. This means that the soils are poor in nutrients and, thanks to the texture, easier to work due to not holding or sticking to the winegrower's implements. However, challenges will still present themselves even when you have the best soils and terroir.

This 24-acre property has produced a rich, Merlot-dominated wine. Big tannins and equally big black fruits are unashamedly rich. Backed by structure and pepper and licorice flavors, the wine needs some time. Drink from 2024.

The 2018 Chateau les Alberts Lussac-Saint-Emilion opens to inviting aromas of cherries and blackberries followed by tobacco, spices, wet stones and hints of toast. Medium-bodied with fine tannins leading to the finish where cherries, tobacco and mineral notes linger. Accessible now, and could also offer a drinking window that spans a decade.
