Vinification
Destemming and light crushing of the grapes. Fermentation at controlled temperatures in stainless steel tanks, and malolactic fermentation in concrete tanks. Aged in 225-liter oak barriques for at least 24 months.

Tasting Notes: Purple-plum, crumbled sage-leaf and black-olive-paste aromas emanate from the glass. This violet-red-colored wine features blackberry, black-currant, dried Mediterranean herb, milk-chocolate and violet flavors wrapped in a sheath of sumptuous tannins. Notes of butterscotch and orange-zest linger on the taste buds.

Tasting Notes: The 2016 Gran Reserva Rioja opens to pretty aromatics of backberries [sic] and plums along with untertones [sic] of licorice, leather, vanilla, oak and spice nuances. On the palate this possesses a gorgeous medium body, which is structured with silky tannins underlined by a wonderful combination of acidity and minerality which persists through the long sleek finish. This is showing fabulous today and should go on to drink beautifully for at least another decade or more.
