Winemaker's Note
This new cuvee was created in 2006. It was born of a desire to respect the exceptional terroir of a plot of very old vines in La Gardiole (Les Sables and Le Couchant). This terroir, with its sandy soil, gives this cuvee outstanding aromatic potential, great finesse, and elegance, with fine-grained tannins and a silky texture. The 2022 Domaine du Grand Tinel Chateauneuf-du-Pape 'Heres' opens with an enticing bouquet of ripe blackberries, cherries, and plums, alongside subtle hints of garrigue, spices, and a touch of white pepper and leather. On the palate, it offers a medium-bodied profile with layers of dark fruit, pepper, and earthy nuances, all supported by firm, velvety tannins that provide structure without overwhelming the wine. The finish is long and smooth, with a savory, slightly smoky quality that lingers beautifully. Enjoy with roasts and grilled red meats.

Winemaking
Traditional with complete destemming. The entire fermentation process takes place in stainless steel tanks. The temperatures are controlled throughout alcoholic fermentation. Pumping over 1 or 2 times a day, along with 3 or 4 "delestages" during fermentation. Long vatting from 3 to 4 weeks. A daily tasting of the tank takes place to determine the date of devatting.

Grapes: 100% Grenache Noir
Harvest: Entirely manual picking, followed by systematic sorting in the vineyard and then on a sorting table in the cellar
Aging: Exclusively in stainless steel for 12 months to keep fruity aromas

Tasting Notes: The 2022 Chateauneuf du Pape Heres from Domaine du Grand Tinel, matured for 12 months in stainless steel tanks and crafted entirely from Grenache vines located in the La Gardiole lieu-dit, evokes a complex, dense bouquet of dark cherries, bay leaf, lead pencil and black olive. Medium to full-bodied, enveloping and dense, it has a fleshy, sweet core of fruit. Supported by a powerful mid-palate and a long, firm finish, this Chateauneuf-du-Pape stands out for its rich texture and depth.

Tasting Notes: Made from 100% Grenache, the 2022 Chateauneuf Du Pape Heres is along the same lines yet brings a touch more freshness. Lively strawberry and cherry fruit, some sappy garrigue, leather, and floral notes, medium-bodied richness, and ripe tannins all make for a charming, upfront, elegant wine. As with the estate’s other 2022s, it lacks density and extraction yet has plenty of charm and character.

Tasting Notes: A varietal Grenache, like the Alexis Establet cuvee, the 2022 Chateauneuf-du-Pape Heres tops 16% alcohol, which becomes a little noticeable due to a trace of heat on the intense finish. Nonetheless, the 2022 is a remarkably intricate and concentrated red Chateauneuf, bundling jammy strawberry, melted licorice, dried herbs and red plum tones. Make sure to serve this slightly chilled.

Tasting Notes: Tasted blind. Crushed strawberry and red fruits on the nose. The attack is rich and powerful and there are firm and dense, tightly wound tannins. The fruit core is dark and powerful and plenty big enough to incorporate the robust tannins. Powerful, inviting and shows great potential. (AC)
