The 2021 vintage was marked by a strong frost in early April, which reduced yields, mostly to the Chardonnays. The production was small, and the harvest was in late September; however, the grapes were of excellent quality. Production was from 17 to 22 days for Pinot Noir, all the 1ers Crus in whole bunches.

Tasting Notes: This red is juicy and elegant, yet with reticent flavors of cherry, berry, earth and leafy underbrush. Reveals a chalky feel on the finish, thanks to dusty tannins. Opens with air, so decant now or wait a few years. Best from 2026 through 2040.

Tasting Notes: Subtle but not invisible wood sets off notes of dark currant, earth and a subtle spice wisp. The supple round and delicious medium weight flavors exude evident minerality on the slightly austere and rustic but balanced finale. This should drink well young but repay up to a decade of cellaring.

Tasting Notes: Cask sample. Mid cherry. Ripe, sweet red fruit: cherry, raspberry, laced with redcurrants. Open and drinking well already. Suave and rounded. (MH)
