Resonance Vineyard Pinot Noir 2017

Background
Our signature estate-grown wine, Resonance Vineyard Pinot Noir, is the pure expression of our dry-farmed Resonance Vineyard, planted on ungrafted rootstock in 1981. Our Pinot Noir grapes are handpicked just steps from the winery and hand-sorted upon arrival. During elevage, we control the juice with a light touch honed over 170 years of winemaking in Burgundy, boosting each vintage to achieve its most natural elegance and complexity. Resonance Vineyard Pinot Noir unveils the immense character and the "somewhereness" of this original site within the Yamhill-Carlton AVA.

Vintage Notes
The cold, wet winter and spring brought late flowering (end of June). However, summer was one of the warmest (new record in August), providing very good conditions for maturation. We began harvesting on September 28th with ripe, complex Pinot Noir grapes.

Tasting Notes
An intense color with nice red tinges. The nose is complex, with notes of black cherry, blonde tobacco, black truffle, violet flowers, and noble essences of wood. The palate reveals a perfect harmony between the tannic structure and aromatic complexity, while minerality gives a vibrant finale, suggesting a long life.

Tasting Notes: Resonance marks Maison Louis Jadot’s first venture beyond Burgundy, with its debut vintage released in 2013. Winemaker Guillaume Large - Burgundy-born and formerly of Jadot - moved to Oregon with his family to helm the project. Jadot’s latest endeavor signals a promising future for high-quality wine in Oregon. The bouquet offers an enticing mix of wild black cherries, blackberry compote, blueberries, dried orange peel, black tea, and crushed stone. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and plush, anchored by compelling depth of flavor and lifted by vibrant acidity.

Tasting Notes: Deep ruby-red. Intense red and blue fruit, floral and spice qualities on the fragrant nose, along with hints of succulent flowers and musky earth. Sappy and penetrating on the palate, offering juicy black raspberry, mulberry and cherry flavors sweetened by a vanilla flourish. Smooth tannins build slowly, adding shape to a very long, smoke- and spice-laced finish. 30% new French oak.

Tasting Notes: Offers a sinewy beam of minerally acidity and lively tannins, framed by black cherry and forest floor accents that build tension toward a tight ending. Hands off for now. Best from 2022 through 2028.

Tasting Notes: Lovely aromas of blackberries, along with hints of pepper and smoke, lead into a tasty wine with even more berries and plums. Aged 17 months in 30% new oak, it's got a streak of roasted coffee, and further highlights of Dr Pepper, buoyed with ample acidity.

Tasting Notes: Pale to medium ruby-purple, the 2017 Resonance Vineyard Pinot Noir features crushed blueberries, boysenberries and blackberries on the nose with notes of red berries, cinnamon, dried leaves and flowers.
