Estate
The Lorieux domaine is located in St. Nicolas de Bourgueil and Cravant, on either side of the Loire River, as a result of the merger of two vineyards. Brothers Alain and Pascal work these lands, with Alain producing Chinon wines and Pascal producing Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil. Terroir defines the specificity of these Loire Valley wines.

Terroir
The estate's vineyards span approximately 50 acres, with 30 acres in Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil and 20 acres in Chinon. The vines thrive on south-facing hillsides and plateaus overlooking the Vienne Valley. These diverse soil compositions contribute to the unique characteristics of their wines.

About the Winemaking and Profile
For the 'Expression' cuvee, the Lorieux family employs a maceration period of 5-6 weeks with daily pump-overs during fermentation. The wine is then aged in stainless steel tanks for 8 to 12 months, preserving the fresh fruit characteristics of the Cabernet Franc grape. The resulting wine exhibits rich black fruit aromas, complemented by earthy notes such as tobacco and leather. On the palate, it offers a smooth texture with firm tannins and balanced acidity.
