I aim for a luxurious texture in Jayson Cabernet Sauvignon, selecting blocks of our mountain fruit that deliver concentration and intensity, with plush fruit and a polished tannin profile. I blend these blocks with rich, round fruit from the Rutherford Valley floor and Atlas Peak foothills - the perfect balance of grip and juiciness. Jayson Cabernet Sauvignon is aged for approximately 15 months in 78% new Taransaud heavy-toast oak to build on that incredible mouthfeel and structure, match the wine's tannin profile, and support our signature intensity.

Tasting Notes
A deep ruby hue, 2022 Jayson Cabernet Sauvignon opens with layered aromas of raspberry compote, red licorice, and caramel, underscored by hints of black pepper and sage. Valley floor fruit brings mouth-filling plushness to the palate, while concentrated mountain fruit drives through the core. Firm tannins melt away to a silky texture, revealing rich, ripe red and black fruit flavors that merge into lingering notes of warm vanilla and dark chocolate.

Tasting Notes: This is a very polished wine in 2022, well-built with neatly knit tannins that form a solid foundation for the dark currant and blackberry fruit that floods the mid-palate. Good depth of concentration and driving energy create a sense of tension and vibrancy. Indeed not a shy wine, yet more approachable, with tannins almost melting away on the finish - very characteristic of the warm vintage. [...]. Grapes are sorted by hand, fermented in stainless steel with a small percentage in oak tanks, and then aged for 15 months in [...] French oak.

Tasting Notes: Lush, velvety, and giving, this full bodied Cabernet delivers a mouthful of flavor ushering to a long finish. Crisp red berries and cassis join with fresh, woodsy lift followed by oak spices and a plush finish.

Tasting Notes: The 2022 'Jayson' delivers inviting aromas of black currants and red berries woven together with notes of sweet baking spices, cedar, tobacco leaf, and a touch of fresh, peppery herbs. On the palate, it delivers a bold, medium-plus bodied profile that is polished and laced and sleek with well-integrated tannins that lead into the lingering finish. The 2022 is approachable now and should offer a drinking window that spans a decade.

Tasting Notes: A gush of mulberry and black cherry puree is polished and easygoing in feel, with a melted black licorice note that then wins out on the finish. Drink now through 2027. Tasted twice, with consistent notes.
