Corazon del Rio Chardonnay RRV 2021

Wine Description
We are excited to introduce our inaugural vintage of Corazon del Rio Chardonnay! Our second Chardonnay grapes are from a younger block of the Buena Tierra Vineyard called Corazon del Rio, produced in the same manner as Buena Tierra. The wine is fresh, gorgeous, and stunning, displaying the same overall beautiful complexity and consistency of Shibumi Chardonnay.

Production
Natural yeast usually starts the fermentation process in the first few days. The wine undergoes full malolactic fermentation in barrel and is aged on lees throughout its life. It is only racked once for bottling with minimal sulfur additions. It is never fined or filtered.

Tasting Notes: The 2021 Chardonnay Corazon del Rio Vineyard is a little closed to start. Notes of pear tart and lemon curd slowly emerge, opening out to an undercurrent of beeswax, allspice, and toasted almonds. The medium-bodied palate delivers chalky apple and pear flavors with a lively backbone and silky texture, finishing with a spicy kick.

Tasting Notes: The 2021 Chardonnay Corazon Del Rio Vineyard is another brilliant Chardonnay (these are all made by Thomas Rivers Brown) from the Russian River Valley. Bright citrus, honeyed flowers, and subtle toasty oak notes define the aromatics, and it's medium-bodied, has a fresh, focused mouthfeel, terrific balance, and a great finish. I'd be thrilled with bottles in the cellar.

Tasting Notes: This bold white opens with toasty, spicy accents, showing details of nutmeg, oolong tea and buttery brioche that balance the toasted, salted almond note. Offers a juicy core of lime curd, orange blossoms and peach cobbler on the long, detailed finish. Drink now.
