2022 HALL Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Background
This wine incorporates choice fruit from vineyards throughout Napa Valley - from the small, rugged hillside sites of our partner growers to each of our estate vineyards. By blending these various lots, we create a rich panorama on the palate, a landscape of complexity and character that clearly depicts Napa Valley.

Vintage
Ample winter rain, followed by temperate and dry conditions through March, gave us a good start to the vintage. The spring and summer months were consistent and warm, resulting in small but healthy canopies and balanced vines. Labor Day brought a curveball from Mother Nature: a prolonged heat wave that accelerated harvest at many of our vineyard sites, followed immediately by much cooler weather and a bit of rain. This refreshing slowdown allowed the remaining grapes to hang a bit longer, yielding beautifully balanced fruit and polished tannin. Overall, the 2022 vintage is fresh with pure, concentrated flavors.

Tasting Notes
Our 2022 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon opens with lifted aromas of dark chocolate, vibrant red fruits, wet stone, and subtle oak notes. Seamless upon entry, with mouthcoating density, the palate is well-structured and carries flavors of dark, briary fruits, earth, and mineral. The finish is long and finessed.

Tasting Notes: Punchy aromas of plum compote, cherry coulis, cocoa, and cinnamon drive the nose of this Cabernet. The palate possesses rich tannin and neatly balanced acidity framing flavors of baked blackberry, dark chocolate, graphite, and purple flowers through the finish. Very charming right from the jump.

Tasting Notes: The 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley) is a fine choice for drinking now and over the next handful of years. Blackberry, gravel, incense, chocolate and rose petal are nicely pushed forward. Soft contours wrap it all together in style.
