Our Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon represents a confluence of everything we've been working toward - a reconnection with our literal roots, and an entree into our unique expression of the story of the Napa Valley, as seen through our interpretation of Coombsville and Oakville. Like all great stories, ours has come full circle. Collaboration with nature, reverence for craft, honor of place - these principles are our guiding lights, our 'True North.'

Vintage Notes
The 2023 vintage was remarkable for its mild growing season, steady ripening, and extended autumn. Vineyards started the year with plenty of soil moisture, and with a cool spring, the vines managed to grow a very balanced canopy and crop without excessive vigor. Cooler-than-normal summer temperatures made for grapes with ample natural acidity, full phenolic maturity, and highly expressive aromatics. The resulting wines are dark in color and substantial in structure, while fresh and well-balanced. This vintage will be age-worthy for sure.

Tasting Notes
Our 2023 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon will certainly evolve in the cellar, but it has been crafted to be enjoyed right away. Dark red fruits, red raspberries, graphite, and exotic woods are just a few of the complexities that come forward immediately. The savory tones and freshness of Coombsville meld well with the generous black fruits and solid structure of Oakville. Careful tannin extraction, barrel aging for eighteen months in 50% new French oak barrels, and bottling without fining or filtration ensure that the wine retains fruit intensity and maintains its bold texture and generous length.

Tasting Notes: The 2023 Favia Napa Valley Cabernet is sensational. It begins with an expressive bouquet of ripe blackberries, cassis, and juicy black plum, layered with violets, pipe tobacco, mocha, while touches of spice and subtle hints of graphite and crushed stone reflect its underlying minerality. On the palate, this Cabernet shows a graceful balance between richness and precision. Its full body carries a polished texture and a core of ripe, slightly sweet fruit that feels both dense and energetic. Lovely underlying acidity lifts the wine, adding freshness and complexity while maintaining harmony from start to finish. This is a gorgeous wine that is accessible now, but should thrive in the cellar.

Tasting Notes: This blend of Oakville and Coombsville includes a significant proportion of Cabernet Franc, combining Oakville’s power with Coombsville’s freshness. The wine unfurls with vibrant red fruit and black cherry notes, offering a full spectrum of Cabernet Sauvignon character - from juicy red, black, and blue fruits to sagebrush, thyme, and rosemary aromatics. There is a generous intensity of California fruit, tempered by graphite and slate minerality and a core of ripe cassis character. Positively delicious, the wine balances grace and generosity with well-defined structure and a firm acid backbone.

Tasting Notes: In a new beginning for Favia, an equal blend of Coombsville and Oakville represents the best of both appellations - the fresh, savory, mineral edge of the former intertwining with the deep flavor and floral lift of the latter. Layers of fruit, supported by graphite, dried herbs, flowers and spices, lead to a luscious yet refined palate with finely tuned tannins and a bright line of acidity. A complete, balanced expression of Napa. 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petit Verdot. Excellent. Drink or hold.

Tasting Notes: The largest-production wine [...] of the Favia Erickson lineup is the 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon, which is approximately half from Coombsville and half from Oakville. A blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petit Verdot, it offers a complex combination of ripe red cherries and dark-berried fruit and a hint of mocha. It's medium- to full-bodied, plump, generous and reasonably supple compared to the other wines in the range, finishing velvety and long.

Tasting Notes: This delivers a pure and steady beam of cassis and plum puree carried by gentle underlying succulence. Flashes of hibiscus and iris filter through the fruit, adding to the overall elegant feel. Drink now through 2034.

Tasting Notes: Deep purplish crimson. Very rich start with some spice and then some refinement from Coombsville. Fresh and inky - much fresher than the Napa norm.
