Winemaking
Made from Tempranillo from vineyards in the 3 sub-areas in Rioja with different soil types: Rioja Alta, Rioja Alavesa, and Rioja Oriental, northward-facing in the foothills of the Sierra de la Demanda. Once the fruit has been chosen, the preparation is based on de-stemming the bunches and a light pressing of the grapes, prior to alcoholic and malolactic fermentation. The wine is aged in medium-roasted white American (Ohio) and French oak barrels for at least 18 months, with decanting every 6 months to facilitate the natural filtering process. It then stays in the bottle for refinement.

Tasting Notes: Bright ruby in the glass, leading to a combination of polish and intensity. Aromas and flavors of crunchy red fruits joined by chocolate toffee, and flowering herbs with a light sprinkle of sea salt, and spice join structure and length. This Tempranillo is fruit forward while palate cleansing. A pleasure.

Tasting Notes: Intense and layered yet fresh and lively. Black olive, prune and blackberry are topped with nutmeg ad [sic] cocoa powder. Red apple adds a vibrant, succulent crunch. An interesting, worthy expression at this price point.
