"La Fortuna" is a wine of great impact and extreme concentration. On the nose, the fruit is impetuous and elegant. Balsamic and spicy notes, characteristic of the terroir, where power is balanced by the acid/tannic component, which allows a beautiful progression and persistence.

Tasting Notes: The nose is both floral and herbaceous, with aromas of wild cherry, mandarin blossom, wild fennel and wild mint. On the palate, berries join more cherries, citrus and herbs, leading to a mouthfeel which is fresh and full, but structured thanks to contoured tannins that create definition.

Tasting Notes: The La Fortuna 2020 Brunello di Montalcino is a powerful wine both in terms of its aromas and its mouthfeel (which is fueled by a 15% alcohol content). To the nose, the wine offers dark aromas with baked plum, grilled herb and an earthy quality that recalls underbrush or sweet potting soil. Oak is used with a bigger imprint in this wine, thus resulting in those prominent savory notes. It shows medium-dark concentration and sweet Sangiovese tannins. Tasting Notes: Red cherries and flower stems come through clearly on the nose and palate. It’s medium-bodied with a firm and tight finish. A little lean now. Give it time to soften and open. Drink after 2026.

Tasting Notes: Forest floor, leather, rosemary, juniper and violet aromas come to the forefront on the brawny 2020 Brunello from La Fortuna. Robust and rather monolithic, the solid palate recalls blackberry brandy, dried cherry, licorice and candied orange zest accompanied by firm, close-grained tannins. Drink 2027-2032.

Tasting Notes: Crushed rocks, chalk dust, dried violets and blackberries form a floral-perfumed bouquet as the 2020 Brunello di Montalcino opens in the glass. This repeats its aromatic presence on the palate, mixing dark fruits and exotic spice over a mix of minerals and brisk acidity. The 2020 finishes with medium length and gently tannic, leaving lingering notes of red plum.

Tasting Notes: The 2020 Brunello di Montalcino has lifted aromas of red currants, wildflowers, and warmed blackberry. Medium-rich on the palate, the alcohol is well-held within grainy tannins but lacking a freshness that would add finesse.

Tasting Notes: Mid ruby. Open, lifted cinnamon and Amarena-cherry nose and sweet Amarena-cherry fruit palate. Generous, plentiful and concentrated palate with soft grainy tannins while the acidity on the finish gives it a bit of zip. Completely ready now.
