Tasting Notes: The 2020 Lalande de Pomerol from Domaine du Grand Ormeau begins with aromas of blackberries, dark plums, exotic spices, florals and hints of tobacco nuances that all come together beautifully in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied, supported byu [sic] gine-grained [sic] tannins a lovely texture that is framed by dark cherries, florals and spice notes, which linger on the finish. Delicious now and should continue to drink beautifully with some short-term cellaring.

Tasting Notes: Notes of crushed blackberries and plum skins with hints of coffee, dark spices and dried earth. Medium- to full-bodied with tight, chewy tannins and toasted bitter-sweet spices and walnuts. Firm finish. Drink or hold.

Tasting Notes: Full bottle just 1,226 g. 80% Merlot, 10% of each Cabernet. 40-year-old vines grown on 15 ha of clay and gravel in Neac and deep gravels in Lalande-de-Pomerol. Yield 49 hl/ha. Aged partly in oak barrels. This wine is identical to that sold as Ch Les Vieux Ormes. Heady nose and very sweet palate. Oak seems a bit overdone and the acidity is marked. Very youthful, and rather tart and astringent with some heat on the end. Not a well-integrated, comfortable wine - yet? (JR)
