Wine Details
'Il Lussurioso' gets its name from the long-lasting, luxurious finish it has on the palate. This Amarone is made from 100% estate fruit sourced from Buglioni's Vigniteto San Pietro in Valpolicella Classico. The vineyard, Sant'Ambrogio, is located at an altitude of around 495 feet and consists of dark, clayey soils with a high gravel content. Grapes are manually harvested towards mid-September and dried until January using the appassimento process, which concentrates flavors and aromas, resulting in a rich, complex wine. The wine is certified organic.

Vintage Notes
The 2020 harvest had a mild winter, a variable spring, and a hot, dry summer. Good water-stress management favored a high sugar concentration without compromising the fruit. The September rains allowed for a balanced ripening, leading to an early harvest and high-quality wines with a lower yield.

Aging: This wine is aged for 30 months in 25hl and 50hl Slavonian oak barrels and French oak tonneaux. It is then blended and bottle-aged for another 12 months.

Tasting Notes
Intense ruby red color. Scents of cherry, black cherry, and white pepper with mineral notes. Soft, fresh, and elegant with a long-lasting finish.

Tasting Notes: A dark, brooding red, leading with hints of tarry smoke and leather that then reveal macerated cherry, bitter chocolate and sweet tobacco. Firm and chewy, and though leaning more toward a savory, traditional style, this does so with aplomb. Decant for best expression. Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, Croatina and Oseleta. Best from 2027 through 2035.
