2018 Lamoreaux Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon

The 2018 vintage was ideal for Napa Valley - bountiful, coupled with outstanding quality. The year started with heavy winter rains and cool spring weather, resulting in late bud break. Good weather during flowering contributed to an even set and ripening. The weather was optimal throughout the growing season, without the usual late-summer heat spikes. This mild weather allowed for excellent growing conditions for all varietals. This outstanding vintage produced wines with dark color, fresh fruit character, moderate alcohol, and balanced acidity.

Tasting Notes
Dark red in color, this wine bursts with aromas of wild berry, mixed berry pie, and cordial aromas, giving way to raisin cake and brown sugar syrup. The palate flows with flavors of cherry and blackberry patch and finishes with a balance of acidity and tannin. The tannins are soft with additional flavors of fruit leather, white pepper, cedar, roasted mushroom, and truffles.

Tasting Notes: Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Lamoreaux Vineyard slowly awakens to reveal notes of chocolate-covered cherries, ripe blackberries and cassis with hints of unsmoked cigars, wild sage and raspberry leaves with a waft of tar. The medium to full-bodied palate delivers plenty of expressive black and red berry flavors with a soft texture and herbal lift on the finish.

Tasting Notes: Charred-toast and savory black-olive aromas here, alongside blackcurrant, bark and licorice. It’s medium-to full-bodied with firm, fine-grained tannins. Lots of black fruit and a chewy, meaty quality to this. [...].

Tasting Notes: Solid and direct, with a core of cassis and crushed plum laced with light warm earth and roasted vanilla accents. Shows a tickle of cedar at the very end. Drink now through 2027.

Tasting Notes: From the Oak Knoll District just north of the town of Napa, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Lamoreaux Vineyard is a more medium-bodied, straightforward effort offering attractive black fruits, smoked tobacco, chocolate, and earthy aromas and flavors. It's nicely textured, moderately concentrated, and balanced, all pointing toward a solid 2018 to enjoy over the coming 7-8 years or so.
