The 2018 vintage was an ideal vintage for Napa Valley - late, long, and bountiful. In fact, 2018 was a record-tonnage year for Sequoia Grove due to perfect weather. The year started out with heavy rains and cool weather, resulting in a late bud break to start the season. Good weather during flowering contributed to even fruit set and ripening. Temperatures were steady throughout the growing season, leading to incredibly balanced wines with bright, food-friendly acidity.
Tasting Notes
This Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon boasts aromas of holiday spice, candied walnuts, black cherry, cherry cola, graphite, sweet tobacco, cigar box, and cedar. The palate is elegant and impeccably balanced with a long finish. This Cabernet is full of flavors of fruit leather, mocha frosting, cigar box, and sweet black cherry, the classic Rutherford flavors that make these wines so sought after.

Tasting Notes:Â The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Rutherford Bench Reserve is another ripe, darker fruited effort from this estate that represents a good value. Blackcurrants, violets, orange peel, and tobacco notes give way to a medium to full-bodied, nicely textured 2018 with a straight, focused texture, ripe tannins, and solid length on the finish.
