Dineen Vineyards is a family-owned estate tucked into the rolling hills of Washington's Yakima Valley (Rattlesnake Hills AVA). Founded in 2001 by Patrick and Lanie Dineen, and now led by their daughter Marissa, the vineyard began with the transformation of a small apple orchard, and has since grown into 100 acres devoted to Bordeaux and Rhone varietals. Rooted in family and farming heritage, every detail tells a story - from the vineyard blocks named after loved ones, to the iconic black truck, a tribute to Pat's father and the family's agricultural roots. Even the winery itself, with its barn-inspired architecture, is a tribute to the family legacy. Exclusively estate-grown, Dineen wines reflect both place and care. Certified sustainable through Lodi Rules and Sustainable WA, their farming honors the land while crafting wines of integrity and character. Visitors are invited to experience the charm of farm life - where the land, sun, and sense of family create a unique and memorable escape.

Winemaker Notes
Of all Rhone varieties, Syrah is perhaps the truest reflection of the place where it grows, and the choices made in the winery. Our goal is to amplify the natural complexity that our estate vineyard provides. We choose yeasts and barrels, and sometimes intentionally include stems, to highlight the dichotomy of bright freshness and earthy ripeness that defines our Syrah. The 2023 vintage is a combination of Catherine's (75%) and Bridget's blocks (25%). Though planted only a year apart, these blocks sit on slightly different soils and have very different aspects. Catherine's offers dark fruit and tense minerality. Bridget's brings freshness, spice, and heightened aromatic intensity. Together, these elements created the 2023 Syrah that is both intriguing and entirely enjoyable.

Tasting Notes: Nuanced oak leads the way to a medium-bodied, well-balanced core of impressively pure varietal character in the 2023 Syrah. Spicy with great characteristics of meaty iron and berry fruit, it’s an expressive, nuanced wine aged 20 months in French oak, 25% new. With minerality and tension, it’s a velvety wine with power and elegance and vibrant aromatics of garrigue and herbes de Provence. Drink now through 2035.
