Vinification
The grapes are selected from the oldest parcels of our vineyards, and the fruit is harvested at the perfect phenolic ripeness of each parcel. The fermentation is carried out in historic granitic lagares using a traditional foot-treading process at controlled temperatures. Maceration for 15 days with skin contact.

Tasting Notes
Intense red color with a slight hint of purple. The nose is explosive with red and black forest fruits. After this come subtler notes of violets and a touch of pepper. A well-rounded mouthfeel with volume and length. Smooth tannins and flavors of dried fruit. There is a freshness to this wine with racy acidity; flavors of chocolate and rose petal complement the finish.

Tasting Notes: A deep well of pure and concentrated blackberry and blueberry fruit is set up by coffee-toffee, tobacco, baking spices, and damp earth in this powerful Douro red. Baking chocolate lingers on the finish. It's certainly drinkable now, but it'll pick up steam and gain complexity with 3-4 years in the bottle and be marvelous afterward. Ideal from 2030.
