Juicy, dusty, vibrant Barolo from the low-yielding yet excellent 2019 growing season, whose firm and structured wines are built for long-term aging. This 'Coste di Rose' by Bric Cenciurio showcases Nebbiolo's bold side, with notes of red and dark berries, mocha, and a woody earthiness that comes from long, gentle aging in Slavonian casks. Tuck this powerful, "broad and brooding" Italian red in your cellar for a few years to experience it at its best!
Vineyard Notes
Coste di Rose is a prestigious hill located in the municipality of Barolo. Under the surface rich in organic matter, to a depth of 50 to 100cm, we find an alternation of blue and grey strata of clay (named 'Marne di S. Agata Fossili'). In these sedimentary formations, the vines sink their roots with difficulty in order to absorb the microelements that will be characteristic of this wine. The soil in this area helps the production of some pronounced young wines which have the capacity to mature, to improve, and to revel the elegance of this important Barolo wine.
Vinification Notes
After the crushing, the fermentation and the maceration begin, continuing for about 35 days. The second fermentation (malolactic conversion) takes place in concrete tanks. The wine is aged two years in Slavonian oak cask. During the last period, the aging of wine is carried out in stainless steel tanks for six months, followed by 12 months in bottles.

Tasting Notes: This Barolo leans into its power from the start, with aromas of black plum and mulberry wrapped in savory spice, dried earth, and forest flowers. The palate is broad and brooding, layered with dried black cherries, thyme, and wilted roses. It's a bold, slow-burning wine that holds its ground. Drink from 2027.Â
