About iOTA Cellars and Pelos Sandberg Vineyard
iOTA Cellars is located on its estate, Pelos Sandberg Vineyard, in the Eola Amity Hills AVA. There are 13.5 acres of Pinot Noir and 0.8 acres of Chardonnay planted. Our family has farmed, fermented, and bottled the grapes entirely, starting in 2002 in the vineyard and 2006 for iOTA's first vintage. The wine style is focused on reflecting the terroir and the unique variation of each vintage. The name iOTA refers to a small amount of something. Low yields, small-lot fermentations, and production below 1,000 cases per year allow for attention to detail and quality over quantity.

Tasting Notes: Dried strawberry and cherry with flowers, too. Fragrant. Full-bodied, yet creamy and polished with a beautiful, round finish. Flavorful and focused. Drink or hold.

Tasting Notes: Pelos Sandberg Vineyard is nearing 20 years old, a warm site east of Amity in the Eola-Amity Hills. The wine reflects that warmth but something - whether the wind-ripened fruit or the use of whole clusters - keeps it all in line. Its scents of anise and smoke, notes of violet and pine overlie flavors that are impressively deep and saturated. For pork loin.

Tasting Notes: A big, full-bodied wine with grippy tannins and a need for decanting. Tart cranberry and red raspberry aromas are joined by notes of menthol and the saline of a fresh-shucked oyster lining. It has a big, round mouthfeel with black cherry and bitter almond flavors.

Tasting Notes: Tasted blind. Medium ruby in colour. Savoury nose with a lightly burnt quality. Musky spiciness on the palate with broad acidity and grippy tannin. Moderate finish.
