Winemaking
A field blend of 75% Syrah, 13% Grenache, 9% Mourvedre, and 3% Viognier, our Rhone block is harvested as a field blend, destemmed together, and fermented in a small open-top fermenter. We punch down by hand twice a day and hold on skins for a total of 21 days before pressing off into 100% two-year-old French oak barrels.

Tasting Notes
The wine is an aromatic kaleidoscope. The first aromas are of ripe nectarine and tangerine, followed rapidly by white pepper, coriander seed, and green cardamon. As the wine evolves in the glass, notes of rose hips, black plum, and anise join the array. On the palate, the wine's mineral center is layered with flavors of blood orange, black cherry, and loganberry, finishing with just hints of tar and espresso. The wine's intense and exotic flavors will marry well with game, duck, wild mushrooms, and the like.
