2018 Garnacha 'From Slate' Carinena D.O.

Terroir
Selected vineyards from slate soils. Grapes from our vineyards are planted at higher altitudes, at the foot of the mountains of the Iberian system.

Vinification
After being crushed and destemmed, the grapes ferment in stainless steel tanks. After malolactic fermentation, the wine goes into barrels. Afterward, the wine is bottled to continue refining in our winery.

Variety: 100% Garnacha
Aging: Eight months in lightly toasted French oak

Tasting Notes
A bright, intense cherry-red color. Complex and elegant on the nose with aromas of candied cherries. Concentrated yet silky on the palate, with a mineral base and notes of strawberries and chocolate. Its minerality and structure create a lengthy finish.

Food Pairing
Its body and liveliness make it a perfect partner for braises, game meat, red meat, and poultry. Serve between 60 and 66 degrees F.

Aromas of blackberry, cedar chest and lavender waft from the glass. Powerful tannins coat the tongue and gums, joined by moderate acidity and cherry pie, licorice, nutmeg, lavender and cocoa powder flavors. A hint of orange zest lingers on the tastebuds.
